How do I find my way around campus?
We encourage you to get out and walk around campus. There are many beautiful spots along the way. To get from A to B, click your way around campus with the interactive campus map.
Where do I park? Do I need a special pass?
Information about how to obtain parking permits is available from the Parking Division, a unit of the Department of Public Safety.
I would like to post materials online for my courses. How do I set up a course through the learning management system?
Our learning management system is called MyCourses and is supported by the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE). Information about access and assistance can be found MyCourses or you may contact CTE at (618) 453-2258.
Where can I find information about pay periods, questions about payroll issues, or inquire about prorating my pay (distributing my 9-month salary over 12 months)?
Payroll information and schedules are available online. You may contact HR Benefits (618/453-6668) to discuss salary prorating.
Where do I get my university ID card?
The ID Card Office is located on the second floor of the SIU Student Center. Information about hours and required documentation is available online. Your ID card can be used for many purposes, including photo identification, copying, access to university facilities and events including Morris Library, and obtaining medical services.
How do I get a professional portrait (headshot) taken for use on my website/department page/materials?
Photography Services, a division of University Communications, provides professional photography portraits to University faculty and staff free-of-charge.
Where can I find information about University policies and procedures?
The University’s policies and procedures are available online. This includes the Employee Handbook.
Who should I contact about a security or safety issue?
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) can be reached 24 hours a day at (618) 453-DPS1 (ext.3771).
The Student Rights and Responsibilities office can assist with addressing academic dishonesty, and difficult or disruptive students.
The Building Emergency Response Team (BERT) ensures that the university is prepared for a wide variety of potential disasters.

Faculty Senate, your constituency for shared governance participation in the academic and intellectual freedom of the campus, holds meetings monthly in the SIU Student Center. Your best and closest resource will be your department/school secretary and chair/director. You are always welcome to contact the Office of the Provost to help point you in the right direction. They can be reached at (618) 453-5744 or by visiting their website.
How do I acquire an SIU email account?
Once your paperwork has been processed by Human Resources, you will need to claim your Network ID/SIU email. Additional assistance is provided by SalukiTech, a division of the Office of Information Technology. You can find them on the 1st Floor of Morris Library, via email at salukitech@siu.edu, or give them a call at (618) 453-5155 or toll-free: (866) 718-4357.
