The CTE is dedicated to helping instructors excel in their teaching and research endeavors by providing comprehensive evaluation services. Our focus is on empowering faculty to keep students engaged and up to date on their progress during the term. Instructors and students can use iterative feedback to improve learning outcomes together—a hallmark of inclusive pedagogy. We also seek to provide the data necessary to enhance instructors’ teaching skills semester-to-semester.

SERVICES OFFERED:

  • Scoring and Analysis of Classroom Exams: Our team utilizes machine-readable forms to efficiently score and analyze classroom exams, giving instructors valuable insight into student performance and comprehension.
  • Processing of Instructor and Course Evaluations (ICE): CTE facilitates the collection and processing of Course/Instructor Evaluations, providing faculty and administrators with a comprehensive view of teaching effectiveness.
  • Consultation and Analysis of Research-Oriented Instruments: We offer expert guidance and analysis of teaching data, enabling SIU to conduct understand the link between teaching performance and student retention.

REQUESTING TEST SHEET SERVICES:

To take advantage of our Evaluation Services, simply follow these steps: 

  1. Click here to access the Request for Services Form.
  2. Download the form to your desktop and open it with Adobe Reader.
  3. Fill out all necessary fields in the form.
  4. Save and print the completed form.
  5. Bring the form, along with your evaluations, to the Center for Teaching Excellence.
